Bea's Baby Music Tapes
Most mums and nannies agree - they just can't get enough of Baby Music !
We soon realised what was needed was a portable version of the class
- all your favourite songs, on cassette and available at the touch of a button !
Through the generous help of many musicians and sound engineers we have managed to create two tapes that use almost exclusively live instruments. We have always campaigned against the ever increasing 'fast food' tendency in children's music recordings - ever wondered why you get sick of baby music tapes after the second hearing ? How can we hope to promote a love of music if our children are only introduced to dull unexpressive computer sounds ?
Bea's Bonny Baby Music is very simple music for the very youngest child. The material was arranged and recorded by singer-songwriter Frank Bogie, in a relaxed rock country style and includes Music man featuring our own Bill Boston's amazing collection of jazz instruments.
Bea's Cheerful Children's Music is a little more whacky. We enlisted the help of composer and baby music stalwart David Bruce and together with Bernd Rest our gifted guitar player, went to a large professional studio. We tried to have a broader look at the songs using different national and popular styles. We then added Bill Boston and his reeds and horns. This tape is more suitable for children 18 months or over and we hope that even after many listenings adults will still appreciate David's fine sense of humour and superb arrangements.
